Transcribe on the device
A compact speech model turns the episode into text as it plays. Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) spots and host reads are treated the same and turned into text.
xadcast Premium analyses each episode, finds the ads and skips them for you automatically, so you get straight to the content.
Premium subscription required for ad skipping and cross-device syncing.
It starts analysing the episode when you hit play, transcribing ahead of what you are listening to so it is ready to skip. Specialised on-device AI chips make this quick, efficient and accurate.

Ads are unique to you. With Dynamic Ad Insertion, networks use tracking cookies and your IP address to target ads and stitch them into the file as it downloads. Your episode is different from everyone else's, which is why detection has to run on your device.
We never alter the files, we just skip what is identified as an ad. Turn the feature off and you can listen to the whole file.
Most podcast networks insert ads dynamically, stitching them in when you download. Two people fetching the same episode get different audio with ads in different places, so a central database of ad timings cannot work. Detection has to run against the bytes you actually received.
It also keeps the listening itself private: the audio, the transcript and the detection results stay on the phone. With Premium, only your library and your place in each episode sync between devices.
Subscribe to a show on your phone and it is waiting on your tablet. Stop listening on one and the other picks up at the same spot, across Android and iOS.
Ad detection still runs on each device, because each one downloads its own copy of an episode with its own ads.
The transcript follows the audio as it is made. Tap a line to jump there, or search the episode for a phrase. Lines inside an ad break are dimmed, not hidden, so you can see what was cut.
Playback from 0.8× to 3×, skip forward 30 seconds and back 15, and a sleep timer that shows what is left.
Drag to reorder, play next or play last. The queue is kept downloaded in order, and the next episode is analysed while you listen so it starts on the actual content.
Per-podcast windows keep the newest few episodes downloaded and tidy up after you have listened. Anything you download by hand is left alone.
Optionally check feeds and fetch new episodes in the background, only on Wi-Fi and only while charging if you like.
Search a catalogue of roughly 333,000 podcasts, paste any RSS feed, or open a feed:// or pcast:// link.
Transport controls in the notification and on the lock screen, Bluetooth buttons, and Android Auto.
Syncs across devices and ecosystems, Android and iOS.
Premium adds Ad Skipping, Live Captions, Searchable Transcripts, and Library and Episode Progress Syncing across Android and iOS.

58% of Americans 12 and older listen to podcasts every month, about 167 million people. The average listener spends around nine hours a week with them, and most shows carry 3 to 10 minutes of ads per hour. xadcast skips the ads, so that time goes back to the listener.
| Listener | Time listening per month | Ads per month | Time back per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casual | 13 h | 39–130 min | 8–26 h |
| Typical | 39 h | 117–390 min | 23–78 h |
| Heavy | 52 h | 156–520 min | 31–104 h |
Ranges run from a light ad load of 3 minutes per hour to a heavy one of 10. A month is 4.33 weeks. Figures are the ad time in what you listen to; how much of it xadcast skips varies by show. Sources: Edison Research, The Infinite Dial 2026; MRI-Simmons; Magellan AI; Oxford Road and Podscribe.
